The design of this scheme gave us a great opportunity to develop ideas around using modern, energy efficient building systems and components to create a sumptuous house in an Arts and Craft style. The house is constructed using SIPS panels to minimise heat loss and to create space efficient bedrooms and bathrooms within the first floor roof voids. The scheme incorporates ground source heat pump and photo voltaic technology to minimise running costs. The arrangement of internal spaces creates an interesting blend of open plan and cellular spaces – exploiting views to the surrounding countryside.
